Russell Pruett

Associate of Arts- Music

Piano/Guitar/Bass/Ukulele

Russell has been teaching piano and guitar in the NW Houston area for 10 years. He is the Musical Director/ Worship Leader for his local church. His eclectic musical influences range from classical piano to all decades of rock music.

Russell began his musical training at age 6 taking piano lessons and singing in the church choir. At age 14 he first began learning the guitar. Since then he has had the pleasure of playing with many different bands in famed venues throughout Houston and Austin TX including playing live on radio for Houston's local station KPFT.

Russell's passion is music education, helping students begin their own life long journey of passion for music.

Michael Barrows

Bachelor of Arts- Performance

Guitar/Bass /Piano

Michael has had a passion for music his entire life which began at the age of 6, in the form of piano lessons from his mother, a Master Organist. He played alto sax in 5th grade through his senior year in high school. He competed in solo and ensemble performances and has competed in region and jazz region competitions. Mike began playing the guitar in 9th grade and quickly developed a connection with the instrument. His first teacher introduced him to jazz, blues, and music theory and this has been his true passion ever since.

Mike has played in and been the leader of blues bands, classic rock cover bands, jazz bands and duos and has performed solo as well taking freelance gigs such as weddings and funerals throughout the past 17 years. He has also played in worship bands at various churches in Houston. Mike has been teaching in the Katy area for 14 years. He teaches guitar students of all skill levels from beginner through advanced and all ages from 7 years old to adults as well as beginner piano.

Mike is ready to help you start your musical journey, or help you rediscover your passion for music and continue to grow as a musician.
